During our stay in Rethymnon, Crete, we had the pleasure of dining at Castelo Rethymno, located in the heart of the Old Town at Radamanthios 19. We started our meal with the octopus sautéed in ouzo, which was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. For the main course, I chose the pork belly, which was tender and sumptuously divine. My partner opted for the chicken skewers, served with a fresh feta salad. Each dish was presented beautifully and tasted even better.

The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff who made us feel welcome and well-cared for. We were delighted to receive complimentary desserts along with several shots of raki and a tiny glass of port, honoring the time-honored Cretan tradition.

One highlight of our meal was the freshly collected mussels, which were incredibly fresh and delicious. We were so impressed that we returned the next day just to have them again. The attention to detail and dedication to using fresh, high-quality ingredients were evident in every bite.
