Archontiko

We had the pleasure of dining at Archontiko, a charming restaurant located at 2 Akti Papa Nikolaou Pagkalou. Nestled right by the sea, this restaurant offers stunning views of the bay, which adds to the overall dining experience.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, with colorful chairs and a relaxed atmosphere perfect for a seaside meal.

The menu at Archontiko features a delightful array of seafood and Mediterranean dishes, with plenty of options for vegetarians, vegans, and those needing gluten-free choices. We started our meal with a selection of appetizers. The grilled octopus was tender and flavorful, and the Cretan salad was fresh and vibrant, full of local ingredients.

For the main course, we decided to try the moussaka and the sea bass. The moussaka was the best we’ve ever had, with perfectly layered eggplant, minced meat, and creamy béchamel sauce. The sea bass was grilled to perfection, served with a side of grilled vegetables that were seasoned wonderfully. Each dish was a testament to the high quality and freshness of the ingredients used.

One of the highlights of our meal was the mussels. They were plump, juicy, and cooked in a delicious garlic and wine sauce. It was evident that the seafood at Archontiko is sourced locally and prepared with great care.

Throughout our meal, the service remained impeccable. Our waiter, Kostas, was attentive and ensured we had everything we needed. His friendly demeanor and excellent recommendations added to the positive experience.

To finish off our meal, we enjoyed a complimentary dessert of fresh fruits, which was a refreshing end to a fantastic meal. The portions at Archontiko are generous, and the prices are reasonable considering the quality and location.

Dining at Archontiko was a highlight of our trip to Agios Nikolaos. The combination of delicious food, exceptional service, and breathtaking views makes this restaurant a must-visit.
