Nestled in the picturesque village of Zoniana, situated at the heart of Crete’s majestic landscapes, we discovered a unique cultural gem: the Zoniana Wax Museum. Founded in 1998 by Dionysis Potamianos, a painter and sculptor from Athens, this museum offered us an immersive journey through Crete’s rich history and its most illustrious personalities.

Crafting History in Wax:

The dedication of Dionysis Potamianos and his wife, culminating in the creation of 87 life-size wax figures over four decades, was nothing short of inspiring. Each figure, crafted with meticulous attention to detail, brought to life the essence of Crete’s historical narrative and its legendary figures.
