Mythos taverna

In Agia Pelagia we stumbled upon Mythos Taverna, a charming restaurant located on the Agia Pelagia beach road. Drawn in by its high ratings and inviting atmosphere, we decided to give it a try—and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip.

From the moment we walked up the steps, we felt like part of George’s family. The warm welcome and friendly smiles made us feel right at home. The taverna’s location, right on the beachfront, offered stunning views of the sea, adding a magical touch to our dining experience.

The service at Mythos Taverna was exceptional. George and his team went out of their way to make us feel special and well taken care of. They were attentive and genuinely friendly, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

For starters, we ordered the calamari and cheese saganaki. Both dishes were absolutely delicious—the calamari was perfectly cooked, and the cheese saganaki offered a delightful blend of flavors that we couldn’t get enough of. It was the perfect way to kick off our meal.

For our main courses, we chose the kleftiko (lamb) and moussaka. The kleftiko was incredibly tender and flavorful, while the moussaka was rich and satisfying. The portions were generous, and it was clear that each dish was prepared with care and expertise.

We couldn’t resist trying some of the seafood options as well. The grilled octopus and fried fish were fresh and expertly seasoned. Paired with a selection of local wines recommended by the staff, our meal was simply outstanding.

Mythos Taverna also caters to various dietary needs, with plenty of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. They even have a kid-friendly menu, ensuring that everyone in the family can find something to enjoy. The staff was more than accommodating, making sure all of our dietary preferences were met.

At the end of our meal, we were treated to a complimentary dessert and a shot of Raki, a traditional Cretan spirit. This thoughtful gesture added a personal touch to our already wonderful dining experience.

Despite the high quality of the food and service, the prices at Mythos Taverna were very reasonable. We felt that we received excellent value for our money, which made our experience even better.
