During our recent trip to Rethymnon, Crete, we had the pleasure of dining at Prima Plora, a seaside restaurant that left a lasting impression. Located at 4 Akrotiriou, Prima Plora boasts a stunning setting right by the water, offering breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere.
We arrived at Prima Plora in the early evening, just in time to watch the sun set over the sea. The outdoor seating area was perfect, with glass panels shielding us from the breeze while still allowing an unobstructed view of the waves crashing against the rocks. The ambiance was magical, setting the stage for what turned out to be an unforgettable dining experience.
The menu at Prima Plora is a delightful blend of Mediterranean and Greek dishes, with a strong emphasis on fresh seafood. To start, we ordered the tuna tartare and the crab salad, both beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The tuna tartare was particularly memorable, with its delicate seasoning and melt-in-your-mouth texture.
For our main courses, we opted for the seafood linguine and the grilled seabass. The seafood linguine was cooked to perfection, with generous portions of fresh seafood in a rich, flavorful sauce. The seabass was equally impressive, expertly grilled and seasoned, making it one of the best dishes we had during our entire trip to Greece.
The service at Prima Plora was impeccable. Our waiter, Klaidi, was attentive and knowledgeable, offering excellent recommendations and ensuring that our glasses were never empty. The entire staff exuded warmth and professionalism, making us feel truly welcome.
One of the highlights of our meal was the dessert. We shared a cheesecake and were also treated to a complimentary panna cotta and raki, a traditional Cretan digestif. The desserts were the perfect end to a fantastic meal, light and delicious without being overly sweet.
The prices at Prima Plora were reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the food and the stunning location. We felt that the experience was worth every penny, and we left the restaurant feeling satisfied and eager to return.
Overall, our visit to Prima Plora was a highlight of our trip to Crete. The combination of exquisite food, excellent service, and a beautiful setting made for an exceptional dining experience. We highly recommend Prima Plora to anyone visiting Rethymnon, whether for a special occasion or simply to enjoy a great meal by the sea.
